Chicago

During the night we had thunderstorms and heavy rain. We sat with Kate for awhile since she gets upset by the thunder and the lightning. By morning all was clear. We would have loved to stay in Milwaukee another day or two, but our weather window was small...and we decided to leave. At 7 am we were at the outer break wall, with calm water...and only spotty fog. There was a small chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, but they never materialized. We arrived at the outer break wall in Chicago at 12:15, and were tied up at DuSable Marina by 12:30.

The city was shrouded in fog...reminiscent of our arrival in NYC!

We are right next to the Columbia Yacht Club....and what a "clubhouse" they have!!!

We walked to Navy Pier and took an architectural tour down the Chicago River. The buildings are so amazing! We will get a second look at them when we leave on Monday when we have to go under 40 bridges in 5 miles!

  1. GREAT shot of the skyline in the fog!! Please wave "Hi" to my son, Tim, while you are in Chicago. :0) Tim told me this morning that you will have another HOT day today but tomorrow and the next should progressively get cooler. I LOVE Chicago and I'm sure you will have a great visit. By the way, the Shed Aquarium is AWESOME (and not only because my son's company redid all the lights in the building!!). Keep the pictures and entries coming. I LOVE them!!
