Love Chicago!!!

We are just loving our stay in Chicago! The city is amazing...the architecture, the flowers everywhere, the parks, the ability to walk to so many great sites! Today we were on the go from 9 am until 10 pm!!! We came back to the boat at 4:30 for half an hour to walk Kate and feed her supper. We have never left her for so long....but she seems fine and is sound asleep right now with her head on one of Don's shoes!
We imagine she slept all day, too, while we were gone.

Yesterday we purchased bus tickets....$25 for seniors....to ride tour buses all around the city and also the North, West, and South areas for three days! Just amazing....As you ride around in trolleys or double-decker buses, a guide explains the buildings you are passing, and tells important parts of Chicago's history. You can get off and back on at any of their regular stops.

Yesterday we visited China Town, Little Italy, and Greek Town.

At the Chicago Fireman Academy we saw an actual pumper used in the devastating fire of 1871.

Joe DiMaggio lived in Chicago with his parents.

The Cloud Gate, also called The Bean, is such a fun sculpture.
This is our reflection....

And here is a reflection of part of the Chicago skyline!

We had a fun visit with one of my former students, Matt Modleski, who is the manager at Starbucks!!! It was so nice that we could recognize each other after all these years!

We really have enjoyed learning about the architecture in Chicago. This is the Trump Hotel and Tower.

We had to try Chicago pizza. This is called Chicago Fire Deep Pan, and it was quite hot!

We went up to the 96th floor of the John Hancock Observatory for a drink with fellow loopers, Madeline and Bob from Betty L. The views were fantastic. Don said the men's room just had a solid wall, but the ladies' room had a glass wall that overlooked the city....I called it "The loo with a view!"
