These gun posters were on several business doorways...makes you wonder how many people carry guns!
Another swim for Kate...
We were rewarded with another wonderful sunset!
We spent Tues. morning cleaning again, and then left for a beautiful anchorage, Nicolet Bay, off Peninsula State Park, just about 5 miles from Sister Bay. The beach area was a beehive of activity...swimming, kayaking, sailing, and boats, like us, swinging at anchor. We dinghied to shore and walked across the peninsula to Eagle Bluff Lighthouse.
Our anchorage is due east of the red star...the lighthouse.
The lighthouse was built in 1868. It is being restored and contains many belongings of the Dulcon family, Julia, William, and their seven sons! William was the lighthouse keeper from 1883 to 1918. Their youngest son, Walter, was alive in 1961 when restoration began and was very helpful for the next few years sharing his memories.
The view coming down the winding steps...
A lovely anchorage, well-protected but doesn't face the sunset!
Hello Bernadette, Glad you stayed safe in the big waves! Bit nerve wracking I would think! I just love reading everywhere you have been & the things you have seen. Fabulous time for you both. Happy Birthday Don.
ReplyDeleteI had Elizabeth here this morning, we were trying to get to do a comment & somehow it wasn't working well. I hope she figures it out at home. It was something to do with how she was trying to connect to Internet on my wireless but finished up I couldn't stay on!
Thanks, Jean!!! So glad you can follow us....I think of you when I write the blog, and it helps me get motivated. I am usually doing it at night. Tonight I have great wi-fi so it should go quickly. Sometimes the pics take a long time to upload, even though I re-size them smaller.
