Up the Chesapeake

I slept most of the day on Friday, after we made our U-turn and pulled into Hampton, and felt so much better on Saturday to start our trek north up Chesapeake Bay. The waves had calmed down, and we had an easy run up the West shore to Deltaville, a town like Tobermory that doesn't have a traffic light!!! There are only about 300 residents in Deltaville...but over 3,000 boats!

The navigation lights are BIG in parts of the Bay. This one marks Thimble Shoal, down near Hampton Roads.

We met up with many of our Looper friends from Norfolk when we arrived at Dozier's Regatta Pointe Marina in Deltaville. What a great place! On Saturday night we had movie night, and finally got to see War Horse. On Sunday they had a lovely brunch. The breakfast kabobs were unique!

Before noon, we left Deltaville and headed over to the East side of the Bay, to Onancock. The homes along the Onancock River are so charming.....

We tied up at the Onancock Wharf....next to the Liars Bench!
It's Monday morning and we are setting out for Tangier Island, not far from here.

  2. Hi Noreen,
So glad you are coming along with us!!! The kebobs has blueberries at the end, then waffles squares, grilled pineapple, sausage, more waffles, and a hard-boiled egg in the centre. The only snag I see is keeping the waffles warm while serving. Would have to have them in oven on warm....and then assemble quickly. Bernie
