In the last forty miles we have had to wait for more low bridges to open for us than in the 700 previous miles, from Jacksonville.
This barge is a bit heavy at the stern!
Aircraft carrier..Notice the patrol boat. We are supposed to keep 500 yards away...and if you come within 100 yards, the patrol boat must come after you!
Another Navy ship...another tiny, but fast, patrol boat.
Ships of every kind! This one we can get close to!
We are staying at the Waterside Marina, in Norfolk, next to a city park that is always busy. They have tables, sofas, umbrellas set up until October. Tonight there is a concert and festivities for Cinco de Mayo.
Norfolk has Mermaid sculptures.
Snow Cat with a three-masted schooner, American Rover, a sight-seeing boat, behind her.
The boat next to us is 10 feet longer than our boat. We are smaller than most of the boats doing the Loop. We don't mind...especially when we buy fuel!
Many of the boats arriving are flying Looper flags that indicates they will be heading north to Canada, just like us. Our Looper Rendezvous doesn't start until Monday so we have been doing some extra boat-cleaning and hope to do some sight-seeing tomorrow.
