Our Chicago vacation continues!

Fellow Loopers, Betty L and Latitude Adjustment, left today, and we hope to meet up with them again down the rivers! We plan on leaving Monday morning.

This "water cannon" goes off on the hour starting at 10am...across the Chicago River...so we will be leaving early!

It was a cool but sunny day, and we had lots of fun exploring Navy Pier. There are amusement rides, tour boats, restaurants, an Imax, and even a Shakespeare Theatre at Navy Pier. During the summer they have fireworks several times a week, and Kate is very happy that summer is over!

Sculpture using real aluminum canoes...

We went on the huge Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier.

I put red lines to show Snow Cat at DuSable Marina. We have a long walk just to get to shore!

 Chicago Lighthouse

I'm glad I don't have to drop this anchor!

We enjoyed the Smith Museum of stained glass on the pier. This picture shows some of the Tiffany windows that they had on display.

Back on Michigan Ave., I spotted this sign in honor of Ann Landers.

This is the gothic-style Chicago Tribune Building. What we thought was very interesting were the special stones added to the walls.  These are just a few of them.

Tomorrow will be a busy day in Chicago. There is a half-marathon in the morning and the Bears opening game at Soldiers Field.
