Sweet Home Alabama

We left Chattanooga at dawn's early light and traveled 86 miles to Goose Pond Marina in Scottsboro, AL. We entered Central Time Zone and it's nice that our cell phone adjusts...we didn't bother changing our watches because we will re-enter Eastern Time fairly soon. The flat tops of the Cumberland plateau provided lovely scenery as the Tennessee River twists and turns. Sometimes we are heading due north and then due south. There still aren't many cruisers on the river, and we again were the only boat in one of the locks.

The South Pittsburg highway bridge is one of the newer bridges across the river. The reflection in the water made its architecture even more interesting.
We visited the Unclaimed Baggage store in Scottsboro. I thought of my friend Joan when a bought a purple sweater! It's new and a real bargain at $15. It will definitely come in handy since we'll be spending the winter in Tobermory!

We learned something interesting about the Chattanooga Choo Choo....it never went to the Pennsylvania Station, as described in the song. It went to Cincinnati!

  1. Surprised you only found one sweater at the lost luggage, sounds like a good spot. I love the song Chattanooga, Choo Choo, cute piece of info!
